Welcome to the obligatory “about me” page!
I am a mum to three children. We moved to Aberdeen in 2000 with my husband's job and life was great as my children were at an age where they made friends and bought them home. I made friends with their parents and started helping on the committee of the local boys football club. My family then moved to Canada with hubby's job and lived there for 18 months. The first few months were difficult for me but once I got a job and started driving life was good. I made a few good friends and still have contact with them. Unfortunately the work contract came to an end and we moved back to Scotland. I carried on with my voluntary job as the Football Club Secretary, continuing for a further 7 years. I realised then that my whole day had gradually been taken over with this voluntary work and it seemed a good time to move on and branch out.
Having left, and with my kids growing up fast, I found myself at a loss for a while, looking for a new direction. A friend of my suggested I started a small business doing something that I really enjoy doing ..... so I did. And here I am now running Indian cookery classes and party catering, de-cluttering people’s houses and helping to run a laundry business. When they said"one door shuts and another opens, I never believed them" but now l feel the best thing I did was pack in my voluntary job.
I have always enjoyed cooking from a very early age and both my parents encouraged me. There were times when mum needed to repair what I had cooked, and times when the whole lot went in the bin but they never stopped me from cooking. And now I am really enjoying taking the opportunity to pass on these skills to others in a friendly and informal home-kitchen setting or in the comfort of their kitchen.
